CLM Now Has Greater Capacity To Inspect, Rectify, Reallocate And Store Vehicles Than Ever Before
Our logistics operation provides vehicle inspections, repairs, valeting, vehicle reallocation services, secure vehicle storage and national vehicle transportation. These services already save our customers thousands in end of contract recharges and create various other financial efficiencies too.
We have just significantly increased our logistical capacity by acquiring some new premises close to our Newport Pagnell head office.
The new 16,000 square feet site, in addition to our longstanding facility at Wharley End (49,000 square feet), will enable us to double our processing capacity and manage around 6,000 vehicles a year.
Our sister company, Maxxia, utilises CLM’s expertise in evaluating and preparing its vehicles for sale. The increased demand from Maxxia for post-lease services, in addition to some important new CLM client signings, has driven the investment in new premises.
Said John Lawrence, CLM’s Managing Director, “The investment is necessary for two reasons, one that the Maxxia contract hire business is growing fast and needs the CLM resources and skills to process its end of contract vehicles. And two, the demand for car storage and other support services from CLM’s clients has increased dramatically. For companies, particularly dealerships, in the vicinity of Milton Keynes, we are storing more cars and vans, and we have even been asked to store HGV tractor and trailer units.
“The CLM clients that utilise our Smartpanel service, to source vehicle finance from our panel of funders, typically use us to evaluate vehicles before they are returned to the funders. Our intervention allows us to intercede where subsequent end of contract recharges are unfair, or allows us to rectify vehicles on their behalves to avoid the recharges altogether. In addition, where our clients experience employee turnover, we store, refresh and reallocate cars and vans so that existing vehicle contracts are optimised.
“For Maxxia, we evaluate vehicles to ensure that if a Maxxia client does face a recharge, it is fair, in line with BVRLA standards and fully evidenced.
“This is an exciting time for us. The extra capacity will enable CLM to process vehicles faster and more efficiently and therefore get them to market and realise the asset value more quickly.”
