Advisory Fuel Rates increased

HM Revenue and Customs has issued the Advisory Fuel Rates (AFRs) for the three months from 1 June 2015.

Please note: at the time of publishing, the data on the gov.uk and a major fleet industry publication website is incorrect.  HMRC is now aware and will be updating its page.  The information below has been confirmed by HMRC as correct.

Rates for diesel engines of 1600cc or less have been increased by 1p to 10p per mile and 1601-2000cc by 1p to 12p per mile. The 2000cc+ diesel engine rate remains unchanged at 14p.

A 1p increase also applies to the petrol rates for all engine sizes. These increase from 11p to 12p, from 13p to 14p, and 20p to 21p for the three bandings (see table below).

Rates are set based on the Department for Energy and Climate Change latest petrol and diesel prices (16 February 2015), LPG (UK Average) from the Automobile Association (AA) website (January 2015).

The latest rates, which organisations use to reimburse drivers for fuel used on business journeys, take effect from 1st June 2015.

The new rates are:

Engine size Petrol LPG
1400cc or less 12p 8p
1401cc to 2000cc 14p 9p
Over 2000cc 21p 14p

Engine size Diesel
1600cc or less 10p
1601cc to 2000cc 12p
